Learn the skills to enjoy powerboating by day
Powerboat Handling Level 2 Training Course
The Level 2 Powerboat Handling course provides you with the skills and background knowledge required to drive a powerboat (open boat, RIB or sports boat) up to 10m.
Your training will cover the complete syllabus to include:
- boat handling in close quarters,
- high and low speed manoeuvres,
- man overboard recovery
- and collision regulations.
Taking the course with Aigua Sea School in Mallorca will provide you with a coastal endorsement for your certificate.
RYA guidelines for the Level 2 course require at least 80% of the time to be on the water; we offer that, and more, using the break times to cover theory in a thorough, yet relaxed, manner in order to maximise the amount of time you are onboard.
Aigua Sea School holds RYA recognition to run the Level 2 Powerboat handling course in two locations in Mallorca, Palma and Port Adriano. Both training locations provide superb training exercise areas within the 3NM limit advised by the RYA.
This course is for recreational boating and for the professional mariner, providing the ‘yacht tender driving licence’. A Powerboat level 2 certificate can be commercially endorsed to provide an RYA/MCA licence and is a requirement for many people working within the yachting industry. For professional mariners, with a commercial endorsement in place on your Powerboat certificate, you can work on commercial vessels, operating in category 6 waters, that is 3 miles from a nominated departure point.
International Certifcate of Competence (ICC)
If you are looking to gain the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) this will allow you to gain the coastal power endorsement for a ‘power vessel up to 10 metres’ including ‘personal watercraft’*. In order to gain the inland endorsement you will need to complete the CEVNI test in addition. There is a fee for the ICC and it has to be paid directly, by the candidate to the RYA, on the application form. *Subject to eligibility based on nationality and/or residency.
*Dates and timings may be subject to change at our discretion. We can arrange the dates to suit your schedule.

The course was great, Nathan was super attentive, he’s a great teacher. I feel like I got the best training possible being the only student, I really enjoyed the course.
Best training in town! Thanks Aigua Sea School for the professional training I got over the past 2 years. You guys guided me from my PB2 to my Day Skipper and finally my Yachtmaster Offshore!! Amazing team, training and instructor.
I would like to thank all at Aigua Sea School especially Nathan. I attended a powerboat course last year with Nathan as my instructor, and I was fortunate again this year to be taught again by Nathan on my YachtMaster theory and also my advanced powerboat course in September this year. Without a doubt this…
I am a happy boater with what I did learn in your school now with my own 34 Faireline Targa.
