Personal Watercraft Proficiency: Great fun on the water, and stay safe
Personal Watercraft Proficiency Course
Personal Watercraft is the generic term for jet skis and wet bikes. They are fast and exciting, but need to be handled with care, and safety on the water is paramount. Personal Watercraft (PWCs) vary in size from one-person machines or to carry up to four people. Having delivered courses for over 12 years, Aigua Sea School is one of the best RYA recognised training centres with the authority to run Personal Watercraft Proficiency courses in Port Adriano.
Why Port Adriano?
We chose Port Adriano to specialise in the Personal Watercraft courses because the area provides safe shallows for the familiarisation and introduction to the craft, then some exciting and challenging areas for the passage planning section of the course. Navigate your way through the stunning rock formations of the Malgrats islands or through the ‘El Toro gap’ as part of your afternoon training adventure. Whether you fancy having a ‘go’ on holiday or you are planning on buying your own PWC, the RYA Personal Watercraft course will teach you how to get the best from it, and stay safe.
What’s covered in the course?
The course is designed for first time and experienced riders alike. Within the RYA course syllabus you will be trained in low and high-speed handling, launching and recovery techniques, passage planning and decision making, essential safety information, collision avoidance and orientation at sea, plus the essential flush through drills at the end of use. There is no prior knowledge required and you will be provided with an RYA course book that is an excellent source of knowledge about the training, the skills and the safety aspects of handling a fast craft on the water.
Have your own skis?
If you would like tuition on your own watercraft, please do not hesitate to contact the school office to talk through your ideal training dates and how many are in your group. We can train one-on-one or up to six persons during any one-day course, using a maximum of three x PWs.
*Dates and timings may be subject to change at our discretion. We can arrange the dates to suit your schedule.

I have been really delighted to run into you and Colin, you’re extremely experienced and kind. It has been a pleasure for me to have worked by side with you to achieve a good result and I will recommend your school to all my colleagues in Palma and Barcelona.
The training at Aigua Sea School is nice, I enjoyed it so much. I found man overboard most beneficial on my jet ski course.
I did both the Personal Watercraft Proficiency and Instructor course last week with Aigua Sea School, both courses went well and I’ll be back on the jet skis soon. Thanks to Ian and Fred who were my instructors, they were both really good too.
Filled with knowledge and newly developed skills, Aigua has enabled me to flourish with confidence when at sea. Greatly recommend training for both my PWC and instructor certification!
