A superyacht can be set up as an RYA training center to provide the ‘safety course certificate’ to guests onboard. The short safety course ensures the guests are trained in safe handling of the Jet Skis (personal watercraft) onboard allowing them freedom of use during their holiday onboard, and under the care of the designated yacht crew who hold the instructor certificate.
The safety course certificate has the description of the certificate in various languages that should satisfy the maritime authorities should any guest be stopped whilst enjoying their sport. The course itself takes around an hour to deliver and the certificate is valid only for the duration of their holiday. Should the guest require a more permanent certificate, this full one-day training course can be arranged through a shore centre.
The yacht must become an approved RYA training centre. This process can be handled onboard however, it can be considered time consuming so there are options available to you to have the paperwork prepared for you, thus allowing the RYA inspection and approval process to run smoothly.
