The course was great. A really good mixture of practical experience and theory. I learnt a lot and I am much more comfortable with maneuvering a larger boat in a confined space. Gavin was very good. Very informative and helpful and also focused on the practicalities not just the theory. Also a very nice guy which helps. It was an enjoyable 4 days.
I enjoyed the Day Skipper Motor course very much. Steve was a very good teacher and explained everything clearly and slowly while being patient.
I am a happy boater with what I did learn in your school now with my own 34 Faireline Targa.
We had to change the instructor on the Day Skipper Motor course due to sudden illness. It was interesting as each one showed a different technique of driving so that we learned two. In general it was a marvelous experience!
You guys at Aigua were an absolute pleasure to take the course with, our theory with John was extremely thorough.
Supportive, Dedicated, Motivated, Passionate, Experienced, Professional!
All the words to describe the Aigua team!
I emailed Linda two weeks before arriving in Palma explaining the situation and circumstances that I was left in after attending another school close to Aigua in 2015 which resulted in me failing my YM practical exam. She ensured me that if I chose to come back to Aigua I would be welcomed with open arms and that she would personally dedicate her own time helping me get through the topics I struggled most with in the course. I had no doubts that Aigua was the place to I should return to.
I have known Linda for 5 years now and the one thing that never fails to amaze me is just how much love and care she pours into the students at Aigua, Her passionate approach to new, existing or previous students is so greatly appreciated and shows that aside from the business relationship you can also build long lasting and trust worthy personal relationships which I find to be an incredible asset to the school. The same love and care is also given by her wonderful colleagues, Rachael and JP, Nothing but smiles, laughs and positive attitudes!
The instructors John O’Hara and Steve Ginger were amazing, so knowledgable and patient ensuring that everything taught was understood entirely before moving onto the next topic. Their calm and experienced demeanor speaks volumes and shows a real sense of passion for what they are doing which drew me in and built an intense learning environment. I can’t stress how important and fulfilling this is, The entire two weeks I was constantly on the edge of my seat seeking new information and skills!
I have learned so much during the last two weeks and can’t thank you all enough, It has been an absolute pleasure and I will most definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you all for the support and motivation from day one. Each morning the minute I walked through the door I was greeted with words of affirmation from Linda “Morning Captain Josh!!” and after completing my final exam I proudly walked in to Aigua and received the best congratulations and support from everyone which made it all worth it.
Aigua Sea School is by far the best sea school for professional training, I can’t fault a single element of their operation and I will definitely be returning in the near future!
Hello Aigua Team! Many thanks for everything!!!
Was a pleasure to know Ian!!! Own boat tuition course
Great Day Skipper motor course. Practical training was most beneficial. well organised, enough time to cover everything, and yes, highly recommend to others.
Great Day Skipper motor course … informative, interesting. Great fun as well. I think for Day Skipper the whole syllabus was fantastic.
The Own boat tuition training we received from Jamie on Monday & Tuesday was really excellent, a good idea of his to split the days training into 2 x mornings . A very pleasant and patient young man and very good at explaining things. Thank you at Aigua Sea School for finding such a good teacher.
I have learnt a huge amount from my course at the Aigua Sea School over the past couple of weeks and the quality of teaching has been absolutely brilliant. I could not recommend Linda highly enough. She was a great teacher for the whole group – patient, professional, extremely knowledgeable. She was always willing to help with any questions along the way and has a vast expertise on all the topics we covered. I will definitely be returning for other courses in the future. Thanks again!
A great experience !! Aigua are a very competent and professional Sea School. I totally recommend using them for all aspects of marine training.
Sam was personable friendly and well informed.
He delivered the training we requested and left the pupil feeling more knowledgeable and confident and competent! Many thanks.
Just a note of thanks for organising the week of Own boat tuition for us with Dennis.
We are delighted to have been tutored by a true professional, who has taught us so much about sailing, safety and our boat, so we can really start to enjoy our boating experience properly
Everyone has grown in confidence as the week has progressed, and not only has Anna and Joe been rewarded with successful completion of the course, but we all have so much confidence now in our knowledge both as individuals and a team – all thanks to Dennis and his expertise and patience.
The training was excellent – We all gained confidence with manoeuvring in tight spaces, boat handling, anchoring ( I really never thought I would be able to “park “ the boat …. but I did !!! )
Sam was a GREAT teacher, extremely patient and unflappable. We all enjoyed his method of teaching. He gave us lots of handy tips and was great to have onboard. We really could not have asked for a better instructor.
Thank you all very much for a great experience – the day skipper motor course exceeded all our expectations and was thoroughly enjoyable.
I would just like to say thank you to you and your team for looking after us.
From my first point of contact, you bent over backwards to accommodate our needs, we had virtually no experience in the world of motor yachts. You advised us on what we needed to do pre course and sorted this out for us via the internet. We gave you a very short time scale to put the Day Skipper practical course together and you meet our needs without hesitation.
Sam came to our boat on the first morning and we all took to him very quickly, he was super relaxed and explained things to us in layman terms which was great as some us had not set foot on a motor yacht before.
Safety first was the order of the day as he walked us step by step through the boat and its safety features. He made sure we all understood each step before moving on to the next.
We then came to the handling of the boat which is daunting to say the least to a bunch of newbies. Again Sam was patient and methodical, letting us make mistakes and not jumping in but explaining how the boat works and only taking over if one of us had a brain lock.
Our first trip out was Portals to Palma where we berthed for the night, Sam booked us a table at an excellent restaurant in Palma.
VHF radio exam came next at your offices. You looked after us very well and explained in detail how the VFH worked and the advantages of been able to use the radio in a competent fashion.
We all know we still have a long way to go but knowing you guys are on the end of the phone makes life a little less stressful on our early voyages.
I would recommend Aigua Sea School to anyone starting out or brushing up on their skills.
I have taken yacht courses in Florida, Canada and Europe. By far I can say Aigua Sea School has exceeded all my experiences and beyond! My instructor Trevor was absolutely incredible. He has a command and genuine instinct for the sea which really shows in his teaching! Linda and her team have an awesome and unique appreciation for their students, and I’ve never felt better looked after. I will recommend their school to anyone who comes to Palma. Take the Day Skipper! You wont regret it!
I have done my PB2, VHF, Day Skipper Motor and PWC Instructor with Aigua and I couldn’t be happier with all my instructors!!!! (Nathan, Sam, Trevor, Linda, Katie, Candi and Graham – thanks to you all!! You are brilliant!). The professionalism that everything is run with, from the first contact to the end of the courses, is to a very high standard and making you feel welcomed at all times! I am already looking forward to what´s next!!! Keep up the good work!
Learned so much of you guys already. Thank you Linda, Amanda, Sam and Trevor.. You are great teachers, picking me up and putting me as far as possible an my goals. .I know there’s a far way to go… Can´t wait to do the Yachtmaster!
I just want to send you a quick line to thank you, and congratulate you for having such great instructors, Sam and Trevor.
They made the day skipper motor course fun and easy to follow as well as keeping it interesting! They took the extra mile to make sure everyone was confident with the contents of the course.
Own boat tuition: Many thanks indeed.
Trevor is an excellent trainer. We could not have asked for more.
He was clear and relaxed in his guidance as well as being good company.
I just want to say thank you so much to you and your babe of an instructor, because I am living my dream and you guys helped me get here. I’ll never forget it.
I would also like to say how much I thoroughly enjoyed both the theory and practical elements of the day skipper motor course. The atmosphere and camaraderie was excellent and I would highly recommend the school to any one that asked.
I would not hesitate to recommend Aigua Sea School and I would like to thank them all. With special thanks to Linda who was a great help to me by providing extra tuition with regards to the shore based theory course; Linda explains in a very simple and clear way. My instructor Trevor was very knowledgeable and had an excellent method of teaching. Thanking all the team!
We thought the Own boat tuition course was great. Trevor was informative, calm, personable and a pleasure to be onboard with. Though he obviously covered the syllabus, he also concentrated on those aspects which would be most significant for us, and that seemed very sensible and realistic. He also tailored the pace of things to our pace of learning, so that it felt stretching but not impossible. We were very impressed and pleased. We’d have no hesitation in recommending Aigua to anyone!
The overall impression of the day skipper motor combo course was great much due to your excellent instructor Trevor. The focus on practical experience was very appreciated and the vessel was well suited for the purpose (was great to know that the vessel was more or less like a big fender when driving around among superyachts…). A special thank you to our instructor as he was excellent. He did not always tell us what to do but he did let us make mistakes, with his supervision, so that we could learn from it while having someone very experienced on board. I think that is a much better way of learning as I will remember it when being out at sea and not having a experienced instructor onboard.
I will, if proceeding for the bigger yachts in a few years, definitely come back to your school.
I would rate Trevor Marshall as one of the very best trainers that I have come across in the many years that I have lived and having attended many such training courses. He was very informative without being over dominant and he allowed us to learn from our own mistakes without too much intervention. A thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile experience.
