Fantastic 2 weeks starting off with the theory week with Nathan and going onto the sailing practical week with the infamous “Johnny B”. Everything was very well organised from start to finish. We all had plenty of helm time to get comfortable handling a 40′ catamaran under power and sail. Both my wife and I walked away feeling very satisfied with overall package. We can definitely recommend Aigua Sea School for all your yacht training. Thanks for a great time Werner and Janet.
This is a shout out to Johnny Breslin and the Aigua Sea School for an incredibly well organised and informative week on my RYA Day Skipper practical course. I was a rather late candidate but the team in the office did everything to make the transition on to the boat as smooth as possible.
Once I arrived on the Catamaran to take part in the Day Skipper Qualification, Johnny Breslin (the instructor) welcomed me right on board and professionally covered all the elements of what was to be expected during the course. Johnny is one of the most experienced seaman I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and his vast knowledge on all aspects of the ocean was perfectly explained and demonstrated.
All along he made the course enjoyable during every theory session and all the practical manoeuvring. I felt I was always learning something new and you could go to him with any question/query you may have had. He controlled the dynamics of the crew very well and ensured the boat was comfortable and every crew member had all the relevant materials on board.
Overall, I couldn’t recommend Johnny and the Sea School enough for everything they have done to make this course extremely worthwhile in my progression in the yachting industry.
From an instructor’s point of view, Aigua offers unparalleled facilities but, more importantly, a very good support system which means we can offer great service to the students.
When you couple that with their diligence and integrity you can be sure of being in safe hands.
Day Skipper was really a really cool course. where many sailing sailing techniques have been spent, with fully practical lessons on a super comfortable sailboat and sailing through wonderful places. It’s really worth taking a course with Aigua Sea School … very good.
Incredible experience in doing Day Skipper Sail with Aigua and Nathan an excellent instructor. Seamless from booking to finishing up. Can highly recommend Aigua.
The best sea school in Mallorca so far! Lovely attention, amazing instructors, even with bad weather we spent an incredible week sailing in rough sea and strong winds, which made an unforgettable experience.
Great idea, phantastic service! Highly recommended!
Just completed the Dayskipper Sail Combo with John O´Hara and Geraint Edwards as our brilliant, super competent and friendly teachers.
Thank´s very much to you guys, learned so much in the last 9 days, was a great pleasure to me!
Just completed a day skipper and competent crew course with my husband. Brilliant organisation from start to finish. Everyone very friendly and helpful, John-Paul and Rachael in the office. Instructor, Franco, very professional and patient! Perfect way to learn to sail in a lovely environment. Can’t recommend this company enough.
My wife and I took the Day Skipper Sail course with Nathan. We went in a little nervous but by the end of the week, we learned so much that we felt fully confident in our first upcoming charter. Nathan is a very professional and skilled and patient instructor. The staff was accommodating with very good communication before and after the course so we knew what to expect and all necessary details.
Brilliant sailing school I did the Day Skipper course for 5 days and the teacher Hilly was amazing. Learned so much over the 5 days and would love to return to do another course in the future
Excellent experience! The entire organization is professional and helpful. They take the extra steps to make it a great time while learning in an environment that is second to none. Will surely be attending another training here in the near future.
Excellent experience, Aigua does a great job of balancing the line between learning but also enjoying the experience. Nathan is a great instructor!
I did the day skipper sail training last month together with my son. Since we are owning a sail boat in Mallorca the school offered us to do the class on our boat which was fantastic! We were able to learn the specifics of our boat and could customize the week to our needs! Our teacher Steve was amazing! He is the kind of guy that always stays very calm in for me freaking out situations. He has tons of experience and is very motivating and encouraging. He gave me a lot of trust that I can do it and is a nice person to have around! We learned so much and couldn’t ask for a better teacher! Will definitely do more classes! Thank you!
Firstly I was very impressed by Rachael and John-Paul’s kindness, assistance and enthusiasm. I always thought I was being taken care of, and will definitely be booking up the online RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Online course with you the end of September. Once I have passed this I’ll explore further with you guys for Advanced Power and Coastal Skipper practical courses.
Will Downing, the Skipper for the Day Skipper course, was marvelous! He pushed me when I needed it and was a fountain of knowledge on all things not just sailing. I would definitely recommend him.
Fred Harper, for my Level 2 Powerboat was equally good. He helped increase my confidence, and I really appreciated his style and genuine focus on safety.
It goes without saying that I would definitely recommend Aigua Sea School, as I was very impressed.
The big sailing schools are not always the best but we had a wonderful experience with Aigua Sea School in Mallorca. We did our practical RYA Day Skipper and Competent Crew course with Nathan Skinner, a terrific instructor. His calmness and clarity in explanation has made it simple for all participants to learn the skills in an unpressured and playful way. We had a great atmosphere on the boat and left with a feeling of having spent a holiday (not a course), but learned a lot. Good support from the office as well. Thank you all for this memorable experience.
I was convinced that my objective in life was to live in a small cottage in the middle of northern Canada. Hunting and growing all I would need to eat and essentially living at a very low cost. Now, because of Aigua Sea School, I have to add a massive chunk in order to sustain owning a sail boat as well! It was a pleasure to do the Competent Crew course with them. I had only ever been a passenger on a boat before, now I feel quite confident with my ability to be on a boat. I can now be useful rather than just sitting down and getting burnt in the sun. Nathan did a great job in instructing me and he managed to stay very patient and understanding throughout the course.
If you’re looking to get into yachting or working in the maritime industry, meeting Linda is as necessary as knowing how to swim.
Just completed my Day Skipper training with Aigua and Instructor Nathan Skinner. It was a fantastic week. I learnt a tremendous amount, both practical and theory. The Aigua team gave great customer service. I coudn’t have wished for a better instructor in Nathan. He gave 110%, great communicator and very professional. A very positive experience and would definitely go back for more training.
I recently did my day skipper course with them and I was very impressed! We learned a lot, I feel I really got everything out of the course I was looking for and it was good fun too. Special thanks to Nathan, you’re an awesome teacher! Kudos for your patience, positivity and the time you took to go the extra mile!!
I made it back to Hong Kong (with my plotter and all my luggage…) and have been relaxing (much needed) and reflecting back on those intense but very rewarding two weeks at Aigua.
It’s been a demanding pace and a lot of hard work indeed stepping up to your and RYA’s high standards (considering my starting point just a few decimal places above zero…), but I cannot thank you enough for having prepared me so well for both the theory and practical exams.
By the eve of the practical exam weekend, I was very pleased and satisfied with what I had learned. Regardless of the verdict from the RYA examiner, I just simply felt I was now a much better sailor and, more importantly, had gained a lot more confidence in doing so. Passing the practical exam was just the cherry on the sundae!
My only regret is not having had enough time to enjoy and visit Palma, which only means I shall be back some day.
In the meantime, all my thanks to you all, not only for your professionalism and dedication, but for being just great people.
I am glad that I have chosen Aigua Sea School, and shall definitely recommend it to everyone!
PS – Special thanks to John – please wish him all the best and a real nice time in Madagascar, and the best of luck in finding a properly draught pint of Guinness there!
The course was great, I really liked the instructor, everything was good and I’m very happy 😊 It’s the second course I’ve done with you and I’ll be back for my Coastal skipper when I’ve got the miles. I really like the approach with your courses and your focus on learning, I’m totally satisfied with Aigua.
The course was terrific, Nathan was really, really fantastic! He was on it all the time and always giving us opportunity to learn, he was very aware at all times. Very impressed with his ability to manage four personalities in a small space throughout the week – really excellent at people management. I’ll definitely be coming back and will want to repeat the Day Skipper course again, probably with Nathan. I think the Day Skipper course is great value for the time onboard.
Start Yachting was a really good course and we thoroughly enjoyed it, our instructor was excellent, my son was along for the ride and the instructor was really inclusive and got him involved! The boat was great and the food for lunch was good, it was a relaxed course but we learned a lot. The instructor gave me some really good advice about which course I should do next and I’ve already been looking at dates – I’d definitely recommend Matthew!
I really enjoyed the two courses I did with you. The instructors were very nice and patient. I will definitely recommend the school to anyone who wants to learn a lot and have fun while getting their tickets. It has been a pleasure. Thank you very much for everything you did for me like changing the dates until I got well and all the interest and information you gave me. Have a good day and a very busy season with lots of students.
This time last week I was just getting to know my fellow shipmates as we set off from Palma marina for a week’s Day Skipper course.
In my case (having already done a Competent Crew course in Alicante and realising that I was nowhere near ready for the next level) all I wanted to do was spend a week on a boat in beautiful surrounding in good company.
Well Aigua Sea School delivered both my requests 100% and I have to say it was one of the best weeks I’ve had in a very long time. My fellow crew mates were all fantastic company and we were truly sad to have to say goodbye to one another at the end of the week.
We were very lucky to have a combination of beautiful weather and enough wind for some great sailing plus the highlight for me which was a magical night sail to Andratx.
Our Captain Jon Tyrell was incredibly thorough and his passion for all things sailing was obvious to see. I feel sure he also learnt a lot from spending a week with us 50 plus somethings!!
For anyone wondering if Aigua is the right sea school for them I can honestly say the week was life affirming on many levels and I couldn’t have asked for more.
I shall be back!
After sailing more than 50 years I thought I was a rather good sailor. Two sailing friends asked me to accompany them to do the Coastal skipper course and Yachtmaster. I’m very happy now that I did it. Now there is less stress when I have to berth with crosswind.
Now I know:
- what ship is coming or going during a night passage
- what a horn signal means
- why there is a lit or unlit buoy in the water
- how to make a passage plan
Your sea school educates in a very comfortable way.
The instructor (Nathan) never shouted to us, he always gave us positive feedback he gave, there was always time for questions or repeating weak subjects. I will recommend every sailor to do this course in your sea school. The way of teaching is absolutely professional and the human guidance unforgettable. I was the man who wanted to stop during the week but John-Paul and the VHF Teacher motivated me in a personal way and so I finished my examination. Thank you all.
I’ve had a great week and even found the exam instructive. How would that be? – because there’s always more to learn! We had a couple of windy days, which was great for practicing what you never seem to do: MOB drill, blind sailing etc. and Nathan is a pretty cool seaman. Well done! Yachting caps off! Here’s another five star.
I truly recommend Aigua Sea school to do your courses. They are very nice and professional. I did my day skipper sailing course with them and I really enjoyed it. Nathan was very patient and understanding. He is a very wise teacher. I would go back any time to do more courses with them!
I thought the course went very well. John is an excellent teacher, who conducted the training in perfect manner. He was very understanding. He was able to anticipate our needs and tailor the course to accommodate all the students to the level of their ability. John really showed us how things work, and clearly explained why. I will definitely take other courses with him further down the road. The boat, Up and Down, served us well.
Great combination of practical & theory on the Day Skipper Sail course, it’s hard to find the pace of a group with different experience and Nathan did this very well. Thank you!
My training on the Day Skipper Sail Combo was very good, it surpassed all my expectations.
Attended a day skipper course with Aigua Sea School last week. The instructor: Nathan was brilliant, patient and attentive he made the week very enjoyable, I passed and have him to thank for it. Aigua Sea School’s prep and organisation for the course was superb and I am looking forward to doing the Advance Power Boat course with them in the near future.
We had such good training big up to Nathan and your organization 🙂
The course was really good, Nathan was a great instructor, kept training interesting, made great use of time. He made sure we understood everything! Hopefully, we will be back in the new year!
The course was wonderful I really thought it was great, Johnny Breslin was great, time spent with everyone, more time for questions would be nice. But overall a wonderful course and I will be back next year for my yachtmaster.
We just wanted to reiterate how much we enjoyed our week with Aigua Sea School gaining our Day Skipper. It was most enjoyable, informative and importantly we got our Day Skippers! Johnny is a great instructor – whilst making the course most enjoyable, the seriousness of what we were doing was never underestimated. And as you know, the group gelled well, despite being very different individuals.
All aspects of this course were good, thanks for a great course!
My Day Skipper Motor course was EXCELLENT!
The Day Skipper course with Jamie was not only well planned but has given me the confidence to go and improve on my newly learned skills!
Amazing! Johnny is a highly experienced and great teacher, tailored his teaching style to fit the people aboard.
Once again we would like to thank you for a great course. Johny B was a fantastic teacher and managed to tailor his teaching style to the four very different people on board. Oh and Isla Cabrera was an absolute bonus!!
Thanks for organising a great course – Nathan is a very capable instructor and everyone was pleased with their progress and enjoyed themselves immensely.
Firstly, the way the booking, payment and administration was conducted left no time for concern.
We met Fred on the day who explained the day’s events in full, clearly and concisely his knowledge was first class! The test/assessment was real hands on affair, and we both felt that although it was a test there was a real sense of training as well, Fred importantly made us both feel at ease, especially when it came to the theory part, explaining and showing us what was expected! Overall a great experience which we did not want to end!!
The course was very good Nathan was excellent. I´m now interested in doing the Motor course next!!
The experience was great, from the first time I got into the office, the team is great and familiar. True professionals!
Sailing was amazing, learning a lot minute by minute as we were having fun with our trainer Johnny, so good! Practicing the theory is the best way. I highly recommend this course, wont forget!
Thank you Aigua!
John-Paul and the team at Aigua organised a week’s private Catamaran charter in September 2017 for our family group, as part of which we had a five-day onboard training course with Nathan, covering Coastal Skipper for one person and Competent Crew for the rest. The whole experience was excellent and great fun at the same time. Nathan is a true professional whose assured boat handling and teaching inspires complete confidence. We were also delighted by the route which had been planned for us by Aigua which enabled us to see a wide range of locations across the south coast of Mallorca. Aigua went out of their way to arrange everything to meet our particular needs and I completely recommend them.’
My dad and I recently completed and passed our day skipper 5 day course with Aigua sea school and i would highly recommend the school and course. The organisation and attention to assisting each of us on the course to continuously learn and improve was exceptional. Our instructor Nathan went above and beyond what I’m sure is required of him to ensure we not only learnt what was required for the course but moreover that we all enjoyed a great week in Mallorca! A great ambassador for the sea school and we hope to return for our Coastal skipper next year!
The Dayskipper course was FANTASTIC! Rich on information from direct personal experience backed up by knowledge, not of training books. Johnny is very communicative and takes time to answer all questions.
I´ll be back!
We had a most enjoyable week. The combination of instruction and a short cruise along the coast from Palma visiting delightful ports and anchorages, I think is ideal. It at the same time teaches skills and shows what may be achieved with them.
Nathan was a very patient and effective instructor as well as being good company, and he handled the jammed rudder situation very well, reassuring and updating the crew whilst fixing the problem.
George is already talking about Coatal skipper next year, so we may well be visiting the school again before long.
Thanks once again for an amazing week and helping us all achieve our day skipper certificates. I can honestly say your service has been top notch, professional & friendly from start to finish and you all went above and beyond to make it special & help with accommodation for my last minute booking.
As well as your wonderful office team Johnny was an impressive instructor. He knows how to manage time well to cover course content efficiently without drowning us in information. He gave us time to process new info and have fun whilst learning- a true asset to The company. The rest of our Crew are now keen to continue to Yacht Master after such a positive experience. We have made a great bond & hope to return together to learn with Johnny next year.
The training was excellent thanks and Johnny B completely made the trip. I feel very lucky to have such an experienced instructor.
Also, thanks for letting us use the apartment – it was so very comfortable and convenient.
I want to say thank you one more time for the last week, the Dayskipper Training including Theory was brilliant. My instructor Johnny coached me trough the week giving me confident, its a great man and very patient Instructor.I will absolutely recommend Aigua sea school in the future. and I will definitely come back for more courses.
Our Day Skipper course awesome, Johnny Breslin was an amazing instructor! Very calm and still be able to help everyone at their needs! I will definitely come back for more courses!
I just wanted to drop you and the whole team a note to say what an amazing week i had and I felt so privileged to be taught by such an experienced individual.
Johnny was so patient with me and learning through stories makes it all stick so much better. I felt so safe and extremely well looked after. I so admired the way he managed the different dynamics on the boat with 4 individuals who had never met, from different parts of the world and different ages.
You have an exceptional instructor and I hope when I return next year that I may be able to get on a boat with Johnny. Many thanks for all the email admin/communication it was extremely useful and you have a lovely team.
We had a great course, I enjoyed staying on board in the evenings mixing the course and a holiday! Greg was also a very good instructor.
My instructor Nathan coached me through the week, giving me confidence and belief with every task. He has ignited a desire to continue sailing and improve the grounding I have gained this week! Cant praise him or the school enough!!
I thought the course was fantastic, really appreciated all the effort by the office staff to sort out any issues, very happy with the all girl crew, The boat was also great. Nathan was fantastic, very cool and calm. We all felt we learned a great deal. A lot of care was given to us as individuals and gave us a unique experience rather a blanket course. I did the comp crew while I was on holiday and still felt relaxed while learning. I will absolutely recommend Aigua sea school in the future.
The Teacher Michelle was super! Great training instructor, she was calm and competent just what we needed.
Hello Aigua Team! Many thanks for everything!!!
Was a pleasure to know Ian!!! Own boat tuition course
I thought the course was very good, Nathan was a great instructor, really brilliant.
The Comp course was brilliant, our instructor Nathan covered everything and was really brilliant! I will definitely recommend Aigua to people in the future.
Must say it was a great week sailing under Nathan’s tuition, he explained everything very well, ” a picture paints a thousand words ‘ Well done him’
I thought our Day Skipper course was excellent! Very educational and fun! I found that doing slow maneuvers in the harbor taught great boat handling!
5 days seemed to fly by during this fantastic week learning how to sail. For someone who has never sailed before and did not know a single sailing term, I feel I have learnt more than I could have imagined. Night sailing was definitely a highlight and sailing during the day gave way to some amazing sights. Well worth every penny- learn by doing works!
We had a great day! The instructor was really good and the day definitely exceeded our expectations- despite the weather! Many thanks. Georgina and Nick
Aigua was fantastic, Nathan was a very knowledgeable and patient teacher. We had a great time living 5 days on the boat, I learned a lot, I was happy with the course and will be back to do my Yachtmaster in future.
The course was great, I enjoyed the theory and the practical was great even thought the weather was rough! I´ll be back soon!
I want warmly thank you for professional course organisation, nice family atmosphere and all supports which I got from all your team. Full engagement off your team and willingness to pass me as much as possible skipper knowledge impressed me a lot off.
Special thanks to Linda for first contact, to John-Paul for assistance during all course, Denis for all practical advice and John which convinced me to make Master Training.
The course was super fun and I`m thinking of continuing with yatchmaster !
The office team were great from the start. The trainers Dennis and John were practical and worked with me, using my knowledge to guide. They were great professionals! I will be back!
Nathan was really good, and I really enjoyed the course.
I thought the course was very good. really thorough. John was very knowledgeable and patient. I enjoyed both the theory and practical.
Everything was great!
Ian was a great trainer and the course was very thorough! Myself and two brothers really enjoyed it! I´ll be back!
A lot of solid, practical experience delivered by Johnny in an engaging style .. memorable lessons. Excellent!
Excellent instructor: engaging, enthusiastic and patient. Loved every minute of the course.
Many thanks to you and the team for a wonderful week!
The Day Skipper sailing course was great! Johnny had as much patience as needed for every one attending and guided us masterly through all the practice and theory needed from a very basic level to the Day Skipper requirements. Plus, we had a lot of fun ☺ Thanks again to all the Aigua Sea School team!
Excellent! Nothing else to say .. just excellent!
I just wanted to pass on my thanks following the recent Day Skipper course. Nathan was great and the quality of teaching and facilities surpassed my expectations. Knocked spots of some of the RYA offerings back in the UK.
The Own boat tuition training we received from Jamie on Monday & Tuesday was really excellent, a good idea of his to split the days training into 2 x mornings . A very pleasant and patient young man and very good at explaining things. Thank you at Aigua Sea School for finding such a good teacher.
Hi Linda, thank you for the recent Own boat tuition sailing course which my wife, son and son in law completed, they all had a great time and I can see the benefits immediately, Dennis had an easy manner about him and made them all feel comfortable, we will use your company again, training and knowledge are very important components so we can enjoy our sailing in a safe and respectful manner . Thanks again and best wishes . Richard
An extremely knowledgeable and confident instructor, with great teaching/coaching skills and technique. Nathan made sure we understood what we had to do in any situation, and then let us take full control, but was close by to offer guidance if, and when needed. All information received from Aigua Sea Schools was clear and concise, and any questions were answered fully and promptly.
We learned new skills at a pace that suited us, and were able to build on those skills as the week went on. The yacht was spacious, modern and in good working order. A well thought out and comprehensive set of initial food provisions were provided by Aigua Sea School to get us on our way.
I definitely felt way more experienced and confident in my sailing boat handling skills by the end of the week, and based on my experience would fully recommend Aigua Sea School with no reservations.
I’m a complete novice to sailing but this course has meant I am now confident enough to step onto a sail yacht and operate safely without embarrassing myself. Sam is a first class theory teacher making a tricky subject understandable, has massive patience and a great teaching style. Nathan is an enthusiastic, skilful sailor that is a great communicator and kept us safe all week. Small class sizes meant everyone got maximum contact time.I highly recommend Aguia Sea School if you are looking at marine courses. The courses I took all delivered and gave good value for money.
Thank you again for an excellent course last week. Nathan did a fantastic job of demonstrating and coaching everyone in the group and gave us all the opportunity to put the teaching into practice without taking over control which is a particular skill and credit to him.
The balance between developing sailing skills and learning more about handling the boat under power was particularly good for me. Nathan’s depth of knowledge and obvious experience was excellent and he was consistent in the advice he gave which really helped build knowledge and confidence.
The boat and equipment was fine and the destinations around the island were great. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable week and the course delivered exactly what I wanted from it. Thanks again!
I thought the Day Skipper Back to Back Course was great.. it really surpassed my expectations. It was challenging but was delivered by two very good, experienced instructors.
The theory topics very covered thoroughly and tried to cover as much as possible in the first weekend prior to our sailing / practical.. It was tough going at the time but exactly the right approach.
Nathan did the practical sailing sessions, again a very good teacher.. He was very keen to get everybody involved on the boat from first thing in the morning right through the day. He was very clear in his instructions and made sure all tasks were understood by all no matter how many time he had to take me through things! A very patient guy.
I would definitely recommend the Aigua School and be looking to book another course in the summer.
Just a note of thanks for organising the week of Own boat tuition for us with Dennis.
We are delighted to have been tutored by a true professional, who has taught us so much about sailing, safety and our boat, so we can really start to enjoy our boating experience properly
Everyone has grown in confidence as the week has progressed, and not only has Anna and Joe been rewarded with successful completion of the course, but we all have so much confidence now in our knowledge both as individuals and a team – all thanks to Dennis and his expertise and patience.
Dear Linda, the course was exactly what we needed in relation to learning how to sail. We found Jamie patient and willing to pass on the knowledge that we needed to complete the course. During the course Katie took everything in her stride and always available, even in the evenings. We found her bubbly and enthusiastic and a good representative for your company. We would certainly recommend your company and Jamie and Katie.. many thanks for allowing us to achieve our goal. Kind regards Alan and Kim
I very much enjoyed the five-day Competent Crew course in October 2015. The sailng vessel was very comfortable (no sharing of rooms!) and Nathan did an excellent job of teaching us the basics. He is very motivating and extremely patient as a teacher and gave us great confidence even when the wind is blowing a bit more. I’ll sure be back for Day Skipper. Willi
As a complete novice to sailing I have to congratulate the team at Aigua Sea School for the high level of professionalism they demonstrated throughout the courses. The co-ordination and flexibility of planning the courses I selected with Linda and Katie was fantastic. The teaching skills of Nathan and Jamie was first class. The ability to keep all the students at different levels of experience focused and engaged on the courses can only be attributed to the schools selection of the finest instructors. I was also impressed with the high level of safety and the standard of watercraft for conducting our practical training. I will definitely be booking future courses with Aigua. Thank you for your support and encouragement.
The Competent Crew sailing course was excellent and Nathan is a valuable asset to your school; his passion for sailing and huge knowledge is crystal clear.
Start Yachting: We had a brilliant time thank you. We were hoping that we would have a clear decision on sail vs motor afterwards but if anything the choice got harder! Sailing really is up our street and we immensely enjoyed the peace, quiet and the test of being under sail.
I think overall, the course met our expectations. We we’re expecting to be tired in the evening, but from the physicality of winching sails etc – in practice I think it was the combination of sun, sea air and finding our sea legs that tired us out. We thought Trevor was a brilliant teacher, clearly knowledgeable and calm in handling newbies.
I did really enjoy my week’s sailing. I really rated Nathan as an excellent teacher as he was very positive and encouraging in stilling confidence. I felt that I learnt a lot and that the group size was perfect. I appreciated having my own cabin and thank you for provisioning the boat so well. All in all it was a big success and I am encouraged to continue sailing and take one day skipper before too long! Thank you again.
I wasn’t sure what to expect for my recent Day Skipper’s course, but it exceeded any expectations I had. It was a tough 9 days, no denying, but at the end of it I was not just satisfied at my performance but rather overwhelmed at what I had achieved. This was down, in no short way, to the excellent on-shore and practical training I was given by the schools trainers.
The ‘students’ were of widely varying experience , character and capability and the trainers demonstrated and passed on their great knowledge of yachting with real enthusiasm and patience.
The on – shore theory certainly dusted off the cobwebs of my grey matter and I really enjoyed the mental challenge. The practical sailing was intense , thorough and challenging, but still great fun.
I made the right choice choosing Aigua Sea School all the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, and I look forward to further improving my yachting skills through them.
Own boat tuition: Many thanks indeed.
Trevor is an excellent trainer. We could not have asked for more.
He was clear and relaxed in his guidance as well as being good company.
The course meant so much to us, and was so perfect in every detail, that we exactly for that reason wanted to not only write an email. So I am more than glad to hear that we were able to share some of this magic with you! Thank you again so much for everything! Really best honeymoon we could have ever asked for!!!
Big hug and thank you for making me love sailing. I had the best time ever with your school. Nothing out there compares to your school! Please tell Nathan and John a big hello from me too!
Thank you for your e-mail. We had a fantastic week and in our group were all very nice people and we all got along really well. John is a great, experienced teacher and we also liked our skipper Nathan very much. The boat was in good condition, spacious, clean and we had good fun with Nathan yet learned a lot at the same time. The food provided was generous and good quality and as hard as you ask me to think, I really don’t have any complaints…!
I can and will recommend your school and also come back soon for subsequent courses.
The course was awesome!
I learned a lot and Nathan was an absolute star! He has a lot of knowledge and a very calm way of teaching. We all learnt so much from him! The course was absolutely what I wanted it to be. The boat was lovely and very well equipped and all response and communication with you was fantastic!
It was really such a great experience and I can not praise you and Nathan enough.
A brief bit of feedback about my time at Aigua. A huge thank you all for looking after me so well! John did an absolutely fantastic job at teaching us and he has incredible patience as I know it can get frustrating at times. The yacht was absolutely fantastic and the safety equipment was impeccable. I will definitely be recommending Aigua!
I did my Day Skipper course with Aigua Sea School and it was GREAT! I enjoyed every minute of it. The Instructors are great and I learned some great stuff. From not knowing much at all about boats I ended up being able to skipper a yacht all by my self. I would totally recommend Aigua to anyone who is considering taking any courses!!
I want to let you know, that we had a great week with our instructor Trevor Marshall and that we enjoyed the training course very much. We had the feeling, that during the 5-days course we learned a lot and Trevor made us sail the boat independently (he instruct us great to navigate the boat alone). We were very much pleased and we will recommend your school further.
We thought the Own boat tuition course was great. Trevor was informative, calm, personable and a pleasure to be onboard with. Though he obviously covered the syllabus, he also concentrated on those aspects which would be most significant for us, and that seemed very sensible and realistic. He also tailored the pace of things to our pace of learning, so that it felt stretching but not impossible. We were very impressed and pleased. We’d have no hesitation in recommending Aigua to anyone!
We spent one week in August as a family on the training boat with three kids: 9, and twins of 7 years old. Both myself and my wife learnt more than we ever expected. We had an excellent instructor that supported and guided us to learn the key sailing points, how to deal and execute man overboard manoeuvring, docking the boat, bowlines, navigating, and the sailing terminology. It was spaced is such a way that the children learnt loads and got to snorkel and swim. The highlights was the night spent moored in the Isla de Cabrera and in Illetes. We achieved our learning goal, and had a wonderful week. Highly recommended way for a family to spend time together.
What a fantastic experience the week was. Steve was a top instructor! Learnt so much from him. Cabrera was stunning. We are still thinking about the week!
In July our family spent a tremendous week aboard the Layla. What a great sailing yacht! As a training yacht it had much more equipment onboard than one would find on a typical charter boat. My wife and I each completed the RYA Day Skipper course and our three children completed the Competent Crew course. Our instructor, Trevor, was great: very knowledgeable, very patient and very good with teaching the kids. In advance of our trip, Aigua was great answering all of our strange questions and making us feel at ease before arriving. During our trip we were able to see the amazing sites of Mallorca. We highly recommend Aigua Sea School!!!
I must say that we had the most exhilarating week with strong winds and a fantastic mentor in Alex.
He is brilliant and must congratulate you on employing such a knowledgeable chap.
We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in some quite extreme conditions. So a big thank you to Aigua Sea School!
