Course Details
The RYA Powerboat Handling Level 2 course runs over two days and allows the holder to drive a powerboat, open boat, sports boat, bow rider etc up to 10m in length up to 3NM from a safe haven, in daylight hours. Training days start at 09:00hrs promptly and Day 1 will start with a safety briefing and course outline.
The RYA guidelines for the Level 2 course are at least 80% of the time to be on the water; we offer that, and more, using the break times to cover theory in a thorough, yet relaxed, manner in order to maximise the amount of time you are onboard. We request that shoes are worn onboard and there is a strict no smoking policy aboard any training vessel.
To train further the RYA provides Intermediate and Advanced options, with the training including night hours.
If you are looking to gain the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) this will allow you to gain the coastal power endorsement for a power vessel up to 10 metres. If you would like to gain the inland endorsement you will need to complete the CEVNI test in addition. The fee for the ICC is to be paid directly, by the candidate to the RYA, on the application form.
