Crew to Instructor ratio?
What’s included, what's not:
A four day experience with basic provisions onboard for meals during training. Light breakfasts and Mediterranean style lunches with enough to get you started.
Meals and drinks onshore are not included, the school will also not provision for alcohol but you may take your own. Marina fees are not included and are to be shared between the crew.
The RYA guidelines state that you should come to the course with navigation theory knowledge to the level of Day Skipper in order to achieve the title. You should also step onboard having already spent at least 5 days on a sailing yacht. The RYA recommends five days, 100 miles and four-night hours prior to booking.
The RYA Day Skipper sail training course helps to prepare you for your own sailing adventures. This time you are in charge! Each Day Skipper sailing course candidate will be tasked with being responsible for the boat, the crew, the navigation and the manoeuvres (having the support of a patient instructor keeping an eye on things!) for sessions during the week.
